Select DATA from the top toolbar
Select GET EXTERNAL DATA
Select NEW WEB QUERY
a popup window opens, and in here you enter the URL of the page you want to download the info from.
Experiment with the other formatting options to get the desired format you want in Excel.
That's basically it.
To save it as a Macro instead, add this step BEFORE the above:
TOOLS ..... MACRO..... RECORD NEW MACRO...
a window comes up.. enter the Macro name and enter a shortcut key so you can quickly run the query above...
for instance, any time you want to download the page into excel, press CTRL-Q (if Q was the key you selected for that Macro)..
Affter you've named it and supplied a key character for it, THEN go back to the top and do your GET EXTERNAL DATA step and go from there...
after it's downloaded, click the "STOP" button on the little macro popup screen (it's actually a little square, not "stop'").
This will stop the recording and you're done...
try hitting CTRL-# (whatever) and you'll have your downloaded info automatically.
